NOTE DI REGIA

DIRECTOR STATEMENT
“The film gave me the chance to work closely with a director for whom I felt – and still feel – great admiration, as he was working on one of the very rare arthouse blockbusters in Italian cinema. He wasn’t Fellini or Visconti, but he was on a wavelength I could relate to and was close enough to me in terms of age. In short, it was a rare opportunity – a blockbuster film whose production had been going on for a whole year – which I took advantage of to ‘steal’ as much as I felt I could from Bertolucci.”
