MANIFESTARE È UN DIRITTO, NON UN RISCHIO

Il corto è il risultato di un intenso percorso artistico e pedagogico che ha visto protagonisti gli studenti della classe 4ª C del Liceo Artistico “V. Calò” di Grottaglie. Il progetto nasce da una preziosa sinergia tra il mondo della scuola, Amnesty International Italia ed il Serraglio APS, trasformando le aule scolastiche in un vero e proprio laboratorio cinematografico.
L’opera è l’esito di un percorso strutturato in due fasi complementari:
- Gli studenti hanno inizialmente partecipato a un laboratorio sui diritti umani curato dal team educational e dal team media di Amnesty International Italia. Durante gli incontri, i ragazzi hanno scelto di approfondire un tema di forte attualità: il diritto alla protesta pacifica.
- tradurre le idee in immagini, la classe è stata guidata da professionisti del settore attraverso tre moduli specialistici:

The short film is the result of an intense artistic and pedagogical journey featuring the students of Class 4ª C at the “V. Calò” Art High School (Liceo Artistico) in Grottaglie. The project stems from a valuable synergy between the educational world, Amnesty International Italy, and Serraglio APS, turning the classrooms into a true film production lab.
The work is the outcome of a process structured in two complementary phases:
- The students initially participated in a human rights workshop led by Amnesty International Italy’s educational and media teams. During these sessions, the students chose to explore a highly topical issue: the right to peaceful protest.
- To translate these ideas into imagery, the class was guided by industry professionals through three specialized modules:
Directing and Screenwriting: led by Ivan Saudelli
Set Design: led by Roberta Bria
Cinematography: led by Simone Lacorte
SINOSSI
Attraverso un montaggio alternato, il corto racconta in parallelo la giornata di due persone – un uomo e un ragazzo – entrambi diretti alla stessa manifestazione. Due generazioni diverse unite dallo stesso obiettivo, i cui percorsi incrociati metteranno in luce come l’esercizio di un diritto fondamentale possa oggi tradursi in destini imprevedibili e profondamente differenti, invitando lo spettatore a una riflessione urgente sulla tutela della libertà d’espressione e della protesta pacifica.
SYNOPSIS
Through cross-cutting editing, the short film tells the parallel story of two people—a man and a young boy—both heading to the same demonstration. Two different generations united by the same goal, whose intersecting paths highlight how exercising a fundamental right can turn into unpredictable and deeply contrasting fates, inviting the viewer to an urgent reflection on safeguarding freedom of expression and peaceful protest.
BIOGRAFIA DEL REGISTA
Ivan Saudelli nasce a Taranto nel 1981 e frequenta i corsi di regia cinematografica presso La Sapienza di Roma e, successivamente, quelli di marketing e comunicazione dello spettacolo. Nel 2007 prende parte a un tirocinio presso la BBC di Londra per circa 6 mesi, ricoprendo ruoli televisivi e cinematografici (tra cui quello di assistente della seconda unità nel film Sherlock Holmes di Guy Ritchie). Nel 2011 dirige il suo primo cortometraggio, Overture, seguito nel 2013 da Icaro. Tra un corto e l’altro lavora come videomaker, dirigendo spot, videoclip musicali e backstage per importanti case di produzione come la Colorado e la Dinamo Film. Nel 2021 conclude la “trilogia della forma” con il cortometraggio Pluto, presentato in numerosi festival, tra cui il Trieste Science+Fiction Festival. Attualmente sta scrivendo il suo primo lungometraggio.

DIRECTOR BIOGRAPHY
Ivan Saudelli. Born in Taranto in 1981, he studied film directing at La Sapienza University of Rome, later specializing in entertainment marketing and communication. In 2007, he completed a 6-month internship at the BBC in London, working across various TV and film productions (including serving as a second unit assistant on Guy Ritchie’s film Sherlock Holmes). In 2011, he directed his first short film, Overture, followed by Icaro in 2013. Between short films, he worked as a videographer, directing commercials, music videos, and behind-the-scenes content for major production companies such as Colorado and Dinamo Film. In 2021, he completed his “Trilogy of Form” with the short film Pluto, which was screened at numerous festivals, including the Trieste Science+Fiction Festival. He is currently writing his first feature film.
