SINOSSI
Una fiaba rap sulla giustizia, raccontata in tre atti. In un regno vincolato da una rigida gerarchia e circondato da una natura selvaggia e magica, vive una giovane fanciulla di nome Jasna. Dotata di un’arguzia tagliente e di un cuore devoto alla giustizia, la ragazza si oppone al malvagio e tirannico sovrano, Volk, che sfrutta il suo popolo. Nella sua ira, il tiranno la esilia, costringendola a un viaggio insidioso verso una terra lontana, un luogo da cui nessuno è mai tornato. Ma guidata dal coraggio e superando le sue paure più profonde, Jasna scopre un potente alleato in Aquila, il custode della foresta. Insieme, troveranno la chiave per spezzare le catene del regno e liberare il suo popolo. Il viaggio di Jasna attinge a prospettive ecologiste e femministe contemporanee, mettendo in luce l’accettazione interpersonale e la comprensione reciproca. La forma visivamente sfidante combina scene dal vivo (live-action) con animazione 2D e 3D, arricchita da sequenze musicali ispirate al genere rap contemporaneo.
SYNOPSIS
A rap fairytale of justice, told in three acts. In a kingdom bound by a strict hierarchy and surrounded by a magical wilderness, there lives a young maiden named Jasna. Gifted with sharp wit and a heart full of justice, she stands against the wicked and tyrannical ruler, Volk, who exploits his people. In his wrath, he banishes her on a treacherous journey to a faraway land, one from which none have ever returned. But with courage as her guide, and through overcoming her deepest fears, Jasna discovers a powerful ally in Eagle, the guardian of the forest. Together, they unravel the key to breaking the chains of the kingdom and setting its people free. The journey of Jasna draws on contemporary ecological and feminist perspectives, highlighting interpersonal acceptance and understanding. The visually challenging form combines live-action scenes with 2D and 3D animation, complemented by musical sequences inspired by the contemporary rap genre.
BIOGRAFIA DELLA REGISTA
Marie Lukáčová è un’artista visiva e regista cinematografica. I suoi film trasformano simboli mutuati dalla politica, dalla mitologia e dalla scienza, muovendosi attraverso diverse narrazioni e affrontando, al contempo, le questioni legate a un futuro incerto. Negli ultimi anni ha esposto le sue opere sia a livello internazionale (Undercurrent Gallery, New York) che nazionale (Galleria Nazionale di Praga – NGP). È finalista del Premio Jindřich Chalupecký e il suo film Moréna Rex ha vinto il premio nella categoria cinema sperimentale al Festival Internazionale del Documentario di Jihlava. Ha inoltre ricevuto una menzione d’onore per il film Milena’s Song all’Oberhausen Short Film Festival. La sua opera più recente, Pole Žin, è stata presentata sia al Festival di Oberhausen sia al Festival Internazionale di Edimburgo. Lukáčová dirige il laboratorio intermediale presso l’Accademia del Cinema di Praga (FAMU) e, dal 2017, insegna strategie multimediali presso la scuola secondaria ARCUS.
DIRECTORS BIOGRAPHY
Marie Lukáčová is a visual artist and film director. Her films transform symbols borrowed from politics, mythology and science, moving across various narratives while addressing questions of an uncertain future. In recent years, she has showcased her work both internationally (Undercurrent Gallery, NY) and domestically (NGP, Gallery Prague). She is a finalist for the Jindřich Chalupecký Award, and her film Moréna Rex won an award in the experimental film category at the Jihlava International Documentary Film Festival. She received an honorable mention for the film Milena’s Song at the Oberhausen Short Film Festival. Her latest film, Pole Žin, was presented at both the Oberhausen Festival and the Edinburgh International Festival. Lukáčová leads Intermedial atelier at Film Academy in Prague, and since 2017, she has been teaching multimedia strategies at the secondary school ARCUS.
NOTE DI REGIA
Il mio più grande sforzo artistico è creare per gli adolescenti di oggi. Percepisco in loro una forte energia all’azione, ma anche una diffidenza iniziale verso il sistema in cui dovranno presto muoversi. Ecco perché ho creato la fiaba Orla, affinché possano rispecchiarvisi, identificarsi e riflettere sulla propria posizione all’interno della società, di cui sono parte inscindibile.
DIRECTOR STATEMENT
My greatest artistic endeavor is to create for today’s adolescents. I sense a strong energy for action from them, but also an initial distrust in the system in which they will soon have to function. That’s why I created the fairy tale Orla, which they can relate to, identify with, and reflect on their own position in society, of which they are an inseparable part.
